Quarter Hog Non-Refundable Deposit of $100
We are taking deposits for Whole, Half and Quarter Pigs! Our forest raised pork is absolutely delicious. Raised in our woodland right here in Orange County, and rotated through the trees, these happy pigs vacuum up acorns, mushrooms and all kinds of foraging treats. We supplement with a local Non-GMO feed that is 100% traceable to North Carolina.
Quarter Hog: $12 per lb. This can probably easily fit in your home freezer along with other stuff, but you might have to cut back on massive ice cream tubs to save some space. This has been the base price of our CSA.

What does a whole hog consist of? What will I actually get*??

*There are other options if you get a whole animal and choose different cuts, eg, less chops and get a loin roast!
**This mainly comes from the hams and excess fat. Notice no hams in this list as usually folks prefer sausage to ham roasts which are very lean. This can be easily changed but you will get less / no sausage.
***If you want these things I will charge a nominal fee for them to cover my costs of processing and handling. Otherwise, we’ll use them on farm.
Do I get the bones, fat and organs?
YES, please take them! If you let me know that you want them. It costs me to add those things to the processing so I will charge nominal fees if you want those things. You are ONLY paying for the weight you are taking. Pork neck bones in a crock pot with veggies is one of the best things ever. Pork fat (rendered) is going for $20 a small jar online. Make it yourself for dimes on the dollar!
Do I get to choose how the animal is butchered (i.e., the ‘cut sheet’)?
Yes for whole hog and half hogs OR you combine with another party to purchase a whole hog. E.g., 2 or more groups buy a whole hog (one transaction) you can save money, but you’ll have to split the packages up yourself! Email or call and I can share and explain the spreadsheet required and talk through some options for your “custom cut sheet”!!
NB: Our prices are inclusive of all butchering, and I have NOT accounted for extensive smoking or sausage making. (I’ve included two sausage choices in my pricing.) Thus, if you want an unusual amount of value added products I will need to pass along some of those charges.
